{"id":1722,"date":"2018-11-27T16:38:05","date_gmt":"2018-11-27T16:38:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/archbishopsylvainlavoie.com\/?p=1722"},"modified":"2018-11-27T16:38:05","modified_gmt":"2018-11-27T16:38:05","slug":"homily-week-34-02-yr-ii","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/archbishopsylvainlavoie.com\/index.php\/2018\/11\/27\/homily-week-34-02-yr-ii\/","title":{"rendered":"HOMILY WEEK 34 02 &#8211; Yr II"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Carpe Diem<\/em><\/p>\n<p>(Rev 14:14-19; Ps 96; Lk 21:5-11)<\/p>\n<p>**********************************<\/p>\n<p>A message offered us by the movie <em>Dead Poet\u2019s Society<\/em>is to <em>Carpe Diem<\/em>\u2013 to grasp the day, to make the most of our time each day.<\/p>\n<p>Our liturgy today in this final week of ordinary time encourages us to make all our time here on earth quality time.<\/p>\n<p>Every once in a while, we hear of \u201cend times\u201d scenarios which seem to stir up a certain excitement, buying of provisions, building of bunkers, etc. Our faith can free us from any such concern with its invitation to always be ready for the end times by living within the kingdom of God each and every day.<\/p>\n<p>Richard Rohr OFM, spiritual writer and speaker, offers us a very helpful insight into making the most of our activities \u2013 \u201cThe way we do anything is the way we do everything.\u201d \u00a0So, changing one thing in our lives can influence everything else we do, and help us to better \u201cCarpe Diem.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Celebrating the Eucharist, our greatest prayer and our one great act of fidelity, as Ron Rolheiser writes, is truly living out <em>Carpe Diem<\/em>, making great use of our time.<\/p>\n<p>So remember, Carpe Diem \u2013 let us strive to make all our time quality time living in the kingdom of God.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Carpe Diem (Rev 14:14-19; Ps 96; Lk 21:5-11) ********************************** A message offered us by the movie Dead Poet\u2019s Societyis to Carpe Diem\u2013 to grasp the day, to make the most of our time each day.
